Bathurst is a vibrant historical regional city in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately 200km north-west of Sydney. Bathurst is also referred to as the Gold Country, as it claims to be the first site of gold discovery where the first gold rush occurred.
Set in a wonderful natural environment with warm summers, clear, crisp winters, occasional snowfalls and beautiful spring and autumn colours, Bathurst is one of the region’s most beautiful cities, offering a diversity of attractions, activities and facilities. Mount Panorama – In 1938 the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit held its first race and the rest is history. Now the circuit is Australia’s home of motor sport and this public road is a Mecca for fans who come to the city just to experience the track.​

Abercrombie House – open various days throughout the year for guided tours and self-guided tours. A 50 room, Scottish-baronial mansion of the 1870’s boasting exhibitions, displays, collections, grounds, gardens, outbuildings and property walks around 18 hectares.

Mayfield Garden – These gardens began to take shape in the mid-1990’s and today is one of the world’s largest privately owned cool climate gardens. The garden extends across more than 160 acres (64H) and sits within a 5,000 acre working farm.

Chifley Home – A house museum which served as the only marital home of Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley and his wife, Elizabeth. The home contains original household furnishings and personal belongings of the Chifleys. On display are also ceremonial gifts presented to Ben Chifley in his roles as Commonwealth Treasurer and Prime Minister. This is a great piece of Australian history.

Bathurst District Historical Society Museum – The museum is overflowing with historical artefacts, you can see the tree trunk carved by Surveyor Evans to mark his reaching the Lachlan River and investigate the world of Aboriginal artefacts, convict and colonial era, gold mining history, a famous Prime Minister, items from the Sudan and later wars, local businesses and professions and the life of our early pioneers.

How to get to Alloggio Bathurst

By Car – From Sydney via Great Western Highway: Follow Great Western Highway into Bathurst Town Centre. Turn right into Rankin Street. After 250m, turn left onto Morrisset Street and left again into Bathurst Apartments driveway.
Public Transport – Bathurst Train Station is 2km from Bathurst Apartments. Australia Wide Coaches operates a daily coach service to and from Sydney.
